In spite of being shocked, as it turned out, that was the best thing to ever happen to me. When one window closed, another surly did open for me. I am grateful. Now I can work from home and enjoy life like never before.

My Work From Home Life Allows Me To Enjoy Various Trips:

Obviously, I love to travel. As I visit different places around the globe, I love the different cultures, foods and life-styles. And don’t forget the music. Every place I have ever traveled has it’s own distinct sound of music. My husband and I make it a habit to dance everywhere we go. Here we are extremely lucky. We can earn trips (many times they are all expenses paid). There is my motivation. When we work from home, we usually are working towards earning a free, all expenses paid trip! Read that again!!

Here is a insightful article about working hard playing hard

Destin, FL – This was my first ever earned trip. Seven days plus a deep sea fishing trip! I survived the rough seas and caught some beautiful Red Snappers. That was a sweet moment. At the time of this trip, I lived close enough to drive. Although very sick with my faulty gall-bladder, I enjoyed this trip and got to meet a lot of nice and very talented people. Some of them remain my dear friends today!

hawaii

Hawaii – Tropical Paradise. There are other words but Tropical Paradise is the best. We stayed in the breathtaking resort of Alohilani Resort. I think the beautiful flowers everywhere and the food seemed to be tied for my favorites. This location was special. Another earned trip. Diamondhead was seen from my balcony. I certainly did wish I could have seen the famous Diamond State Monument but time did not allow for that event.

Cancun – Here we stayed at the beautiful JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa. If you have never stayed at any JW Marriott hotel, you need to try them. They are one of the best hotels around. Many are all inclusive. This location was beautiful, convenient, the food was fabulous! Let me suggest the Watermelon Juice on a hot summer day. WOW! Light and refreshing! There are multiple pools at this resort and we had a great time just hanging out poolside. Let me just say Banana Daiquiri********YES!!

This is why I work from home!!

Punta Cana

Punta Cana – This is the only time I have ever been to the Dominican Republic. So we planned to go for three days to celebrate our First Wedding Anniversary. Let me tell you that this tiny island has many advantages. There are so many things to see and do. We got an amazing Airbnb that was right on the beach. We had front row view, third floor patio of not only the beach, but also the people mingling from the shops below to the restaurants within a 1 minute walk. There were cabana chairs and umbrellas right there.

Next, we found a wonderful restaurant 2 miles down the beach called Jellyfish. We stopped and had some appetizers and a beverage after walking that two miles. On the walk back from the Jellyfish, we decided to take a ride on the parasail. This was both fun and gave us a chance to catch our breath from our walk.

The “Cherry On Top” Was a Great Fishing Trip on Our Last Day in Punta Cana

We got invited on a fishing trip. No one in their right mind would decline this invitation. My husband Nile loves to go deep sea fishing. I have only been one other time when I traveled to Destin, FL. After this trip, I may be HOOKED! We got up early and met at the marina at 7am. By 8am we were on the boat and headed off shore. We went out for 1.5 hours on the East side of the Dominican Republic. The ocean was a bit rough. We were sitting inside the vessel but we got very hot. Myself and Deanna Young started feeling a bit nauseous. The deck hands recommended that we come outside. Once we went outside in the breeze, we both felt much better.

Now comes the good part: Even though we had not one nibble the entire trip, as we began to head back to shore, we got our first nibble. Let me assure you that this was not just a nibble. The deck hand handled getting the line out. It seems like he reeled the line in a few times, just to let it out again. Well, finally the deck hand yelled and there was a fish on the line. He looked at me and said, “you come take this”. I jumped down off of my seat and grabbed a belt (one of those you put the rod in while reeling in the fish). When I took the rod, I immediately started to reel. I felt the weight of the fish on the line.

Reel Mommie, Reel!! I gave it all I had

In conclusion, the deck hand told me to keep reeling and to not stop. My arms were dying but I reeled as long as I could. This fish started to jump out of the water. I could see that it was some type of Marlin. I continued to reel. Then the deck hand said something to me, so I turned to listen to him. Oddly enough, I did not realize that I stopped reeling. Big Mistake!!

So My husband Nile came to my rescue. I could no longer reel: my arms were mush. Little did I know that when I stopped reeling, that Marlin took a dive down to the bottom of the ocean. I handed the rod to Nile and he spent 30 minutes getting that fish to the surface. Man! They both put up a great fight. Nile finally got him to the surface and into the boat. That White Marlin is now hanging on our wall at home. What a great memory and Anniversary gift! If you have any large or small fish that you want to keep for a lifetime memory, let me recommend Gray Taxidermy in Pompano Beach, FL.
