When I find different ways to make food, I really like to share. Some people actually put their churros in a bowl and add milk (as if it were cereal). I can do that! Additionally, I have read that some folks put the churro dough in their waffle iron, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, and only then add syrup. Yikes!! Another option is to make Candy Stuffed Churros and here you would put churro dough tightly around your favorite candy bar-I think I can imagine my Snickers/Twix deep fried like this!! Fun Churro Recipes & The County Fair
Some of my fondest memories as a child growing up in NE Texas, is the Red River County Fair! I would see many hogs, cattle, horses, rabbits, pickles, the biggest pumpkins, sewing projects, roping competition with the cowboys from the area and MY BLUE RIBBON 1ST PLACE DOOR STOPPER! I got a brick, crotched a pink and purple design (I did grow up in the 60s & 70s), and covered the brick. This was my door stop for my entire childhood as I grew up in my parent’s home.
I remember the rides but that was not my thing. Still am not a fan of rides at theme parks today. However; I do remember the smell of the Carnival Foods. As I walked around the Fair, I smelled many different delicious foods. My favorite is the Churros. Dough deep fried and sprinkled in sugar & cinnamon, sometimes powdered sugar but always delicious and something that made a great memory for me!
